Bleach is an adventurous supernatural anime series that was initially aired between 2004 to 2012. The anime series was loved by countless anime enthusiasts and the plot was just as flabbergasting as the characters are.

 The storyline of Bleach focuses on a teenage high school student named Ichigo Kurosaki who becomes a substitute Soul Reaper for Rukia Kuchiki. 

Who is the strongest Bleach character?

 Toshiro Hitsugaya is the strongest Bleach character and the captain of the 10th Division in Gotei 13. Toshiro is a short man who has short, pointy white hair and turquoise eyes. His hair grabs the attention of humans in the human realm since it’s unique. Hitsugaya can get hot-tempered quite often; he has proved to be powerful and in the top ranks of Shinigami. 

The plot thickens when Ichigo learns that Rukia is sentenced to death for the crimes she never committed and he seeks help to save Rukia. Bleach is returning to the anime fandom with a new sequel named Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War that’s scheduled to release in October 2022.

Strongest Bleach Characters 

 Toshiro Hitsugaya

 Toshiro Hitsugaya is the captain of the 10th Division in Gotei 13. Toshiro is a short man who has short, pointy white hair and turquoise eyes. His hair grabs the attention of humans in the human realm since it’s unique. 

He usually wears a sleeveless haori which is an outer garment like a coat and a green belt around his shoulder. The belt holds the cover of his Soul Slayer sword. Hitsugaya looks comparatively young to most shinigami. 

Hitsugaya has a mature and serious personality and doesn’t like to joke around. He is often mocked by other Shinigami in the Soul Society which he just ignores and goes on with his activities. 

However, he doesn’t tolerate the mockery of his enemies and he goes against them. In addition, Hitsugaya only wants to be called ‘Captain Hitsugaya’ since he worked very hard for that title. Definitely, Hitsugaya is one of the strongest Bleach characters.

Although Captain Hitsugaya can get hot-tempered quite often he has proved to be powerful and in the top ranks of Shinigami. Since Hitsugaya is still young he’s learning and training to be a powerful shinigami and he has become powerful throughout the series.

Yoruichi Shihouin

Yoruichi Shihouin is the ex-captain of the 2nd Division of Gotei 13 and the former commander of Onmitsukido. Shihouin one of the strongest Bleach characters

She gave up her positions and works with Kisuke Urahara and Tessai who have businesses based in the human realm. Shihouin is a slim woman with dark skin, golden eyes, and purple hair with short bangs on the sides of her face. 

Her regular outfit is a backless and sleeveless black undershirt which she covers with an orange overshirt along with white suspenders on her shoulders and also wears stretch pants with a beige belt. 

Yoruichi is an intelligent and witty woman and knows mostly everything about the Soul Society. She has the ability to transform into a cat and stay in transformation for a very long time, unlike many shinigami. 

Lille Barro

Lille Barro is a member of Wandenreich’s Sternritter and also a Quincy as well as the leader of Yhwach's Schutzstaffel.

 Lille is a young man with dark skin, short, white hair. Lille’s regular outfit is a sleeveless shirt with a dark green shoulder, green pants, and white gloves with an X embroidery.

He’s the first Quincy to receive a script from Yhwach hence he considers himself close to God. He’s determined that no one can kill him and is one of the dangerous characters in Bleach. He’s a talented fighter and marksman and possesses great skills.

Askin Nakk Le Vaar

Askin is another Quincy who’s also a member of the Wandenreich’s Sternritter and one of Yhwach’s Schutzstaffe. Askin wears a Sternritter uniform which is white in color, with trousers and its cuff tucked into silver and black boots. 

Askin has lavender-blue eyes, a slim face with high cheekbones, and markings in his eyebrows. One of the strongest Bleach characters, Askin has a lot of powers as well!

He has a playful and sarcastic personality that even during battles he is carefree. However, Askin is extremely clever, unpredictable, and deceptive and his opponents are mostly confused about his moves. 

This makes him one of the most powerful characters in Bleach.

Shunsui Kyoraku

Shunsui is the captain of the 1st Division and the Captain Commander of Gotei 13. He’s also the former captain of the 8th Division. 

He’s a tall, light-skinned man who has gray eyes, high cheekbones, and long hair which he ties in a ponytail. Shunsui is renowned for being an eccentrically stylish man who usually wears a pink sakura lady’s kimono and a sugegasa straw hat. 

He’s flamboyant, has an easy-going personality and usually smiles to show how nice he is. Unlike other shinigami, Shunsui isn’t a fan of fighting especially in the presence of kids. He respects his opponent and resolves the issue by talking. 

However, if he’s forced to fight he’d display his swordsman skills and spiritual powers.

Byakuya Kuchiki

Byakuya is the captain of the 6th Division of Gotei 13 and the chief of the Kuchiki clan which is a noble clan in the Soul Society. 

Since Byakuya is from an aristocratic family he has a calm demeanor and is very apathetic towards everyone even during battles. 

He’s offended if someone doesn’t use his name correctly and is very arrogant. Byakuya firmly believes in law and wants society to be peaceful and free from any crimes. Byakuya is definitely amongst the strongest bleach characters. 

Although Kuchiki doesn’t look strong, he’s quite powerful and knows different techniques to overpower his opponents. 

Gerard Valkyrie

 Gerard is another Quincy and member of the Wandenreich’s Sternritter and also a member of Yhwach’s Schutzstaffel. He’s also called the Heart of the Soul King. The appearance of Gerard is quite befitting to a Norse God. 

He’s very muscular, tall, white, and has long blonde hair. His eyes don’t have a pupil which makes him look terrifying. He wears a winged steel helmet and a red cloak that’s pinned on his shoulders with black pants and white shin guards.

He’s one of the best fighters in Bleach and he could take out several people by himself. 

He’s a confident man who’s willing to fight all the time and would never get hurt in a fight. He’s sincerely devoted to Yhwach and he died when he lost all his powers. He is one of the strongest Bleach characters.

Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto

Yamamoto is the captain of the 1st division of Gotei 13 and also the captain of Gotei 13 who is one of the strongest Bleach characters. Due to his position in the Gotei, he’s regarded as one of the highest shinigami and he’s widely respected by most shinigami. 

Yamamoto is an old man who strongly believes in law and order and expects everyone to act accordingly. He’s extremely loyal to the Soul Society and carries out all his duties without fail.

He has a strict personality and a load of experience in training that makes him one of the most powerful and strong characters in Bleach. Despite his old age, he’s able to fight in combat and possesses unique techniques.

Ichigo Kurosaki

Ichigo is the protagonist and one of the strongest Bleach characters, for sure. He’s a human and he was introduced to the Soul Society when he decided to become a substitute shinigami for Rukia. He’s a devoted son to his mother, Masaki. 

When Ichigo was a teenager he was stubborn, short-tempered, and impulsive. He has an empathetic and kind demeanor and loves to keep everyone around him happy.

However, he disrespects people older than him and calls them by their first names. When it comes to combat, Ichigo likes to avenge the cruel deeds committed by his opponents and often attacks them unexpectedly. 

He’s very determined while fighting and wants to win every fight. Throughout the series, Ichigo has learned to fight effortlessly and has mastered various fighting techniques. You cannot hate him as he’s among the strongest Bleach characters ever!

Yhwach 

Yhwach is another one of the  strongest Bleach characters and his name literally means Your Majesty. He’s the father of Quincy, the Emperor of Wandenreich, and also the son of the Soul King. 

He’s a peace lover and wants to resolve all conflicts without any more wars. However, he isn’t a great fan of justice and the Gotei 13. He was also against Yamamoto because he treated his subordinates poorly.

Yhwach was a very brutal character that he was sealed for 999 years. Although Yhwach is a peace lover he goes to a great extent to resolve a conflict even if he has to use ruthless methods. 

He’s competent in fighting, intelligent, and possesses impressive abilities which make him stronger than the experienced Yamamoto. He absorbed Mimihagi’s powers and followed to absorb the Soul King’s powers. 

This changed his entire appearance and he was consumed by darkness. You can never deny that Yhwach is one of the strongest Bleach characters with great powers.
