Or, you can take Kyoto City Bus #28, Kyoto Bus #71, #72, #73 to Saga-Arashiyama Station.

From downtown Kyoto, ride City Bus #11 or #28, and for the train, ride the Keifuku Arashiyama Line to Arashiyama Station.
