Shiseido Uplifting And Firming Express Eye Mask Review

The Shiseido Uplifting and Firming Express eye mask comes in handy if you’re eyes are in need for plumpiness.

These eye patches are doused in lucrative ingredients like butylene glycol, rosa Damascena flower water, tocopheryl acetate, and hydrogenated castor oil.

Butylene glycol is a humectant that moisturizes the skin and grants a youthful look similar to castor oil which also possesses hydrating properties and the aptness to reduce wrinkles.

These components are also renowned for reducing puffiness, irritation, and fine lines around the eyes.

When I opened the eye mask pack I was hit off with a slight lavender scent that was dewy. The eye patches had the right amount of essence and stuck firmly under my eyes and cooled them instantly.

They effectively reduced puffiness and brightened the dark circles around my eye zones within a week of use. And it’s not just that, my skin around the eyes felt tight and plumper.

I was flabbergasted at the eye mask's ability to reduce fine lines and signs of fatigue around my eyes which eventually made me look 5 years younger.

The skin around my eyes definitely felt resilient and lifted thanks to Shiseido’s Uplifting and Firming Eye mask. This eye mask is ideal for those with aging skin and tired eyes.

Pros:

  • Has a minimal lavender scent
  • Instantly grasps onto the skin under the eyes and feels tight
  • Visibly minimizes aging signs like wrinkles and fine lines
  • Firms and lifts the skin under eyes
  • Removes puffiness and under-eye bags
  • Eventually brightens dark circles and signs of fatigue
  • Has a cooling effect when applied under the eyes

Cons:

  • Can be pretty expensive for an eye mask
  • Takes more than 3 pairs of masks to grant effective results
  • Might have a slight irritation under eyes for first-timers
  • Not allergen friendly

Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Pure Retinol Express Smoothing Anti-Aging Eye Mask

Agitated by stubborn wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes? Then the Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 is the ideal eye mask for you.

This eye mask is formulated with hydrogenated castor oil, butylene glycol, retinol, arginine, and ginseng extract.

As mentioned above, hydrogenated castor oil and butylene glycol are essential components in moisturizing the area under the eyes while diminishing wrinkles and fine lines.

This eye mask also comprises retinol which is one of the prominent components necessary for boosting collagen production in the skin which eventually makes the skin around the eyes plumper and youthful-looking.

Similarly, arginine and ginseng extract are other beneficial components for aging skin. They restore moisture around the eyes and make them smooth.

In fact, ginseng extract is efficacious in lessening inflammation around the eyes and brightening dark circles.

After using the Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist 24 eye patches I noticed a substantial difference in my skin texture around the eyes.

It was smooth, and stout and my fine lines were also barely visible. This eye mask firmly grasped onto my eyes when put and they just felt lively. However, the retinol serum in the eye patches was concentrated thus my eyes felt irritated initially.

Compared to Shiseido Uplifting and Firming Eye Mask, these masks were much more effective in brightening dark circles and reinvigorating my skin.

Thus I choose the Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 eye mask over the Shiseido Uplifting and Firming Eye Mask.

It’s a suitable eye mask for those with stubborn aging signs. However, it may not suit sensitive skin since the eye masks contain concentrated retinol that can cause skin irritation.

    Pros:

    • Instantaneously hydrates the skin around the eye zones
    • Locks the moisture around the eyes and rejuvenates the skin
    • Boosts collagen production to make skin feel more smooth and plump
    • Reduces wrinkles and fine lines
    • Brightens dark circles
    • It’s the cheapest Shiseido eye mask range

    Cons:

    • Concentrated retinol may not suit sensitive skin
    • May cause irritation and redness around the eyes
    • The eye mask solution is quite drippy
    • Might have to use regularly to see effective results

Shiseido Revital Wrinklelift Retino Science Aa Eye Mask

Another Shiseido eye mask that focuses on revitalizing the fragile areas of the eye. The Shiseido Revital Wrinklelift Retino Science Aa Eye Mask works best on the eye zones that have lost elasticity due to a lack of moisture.

Thus these eye patches are developed with well-known humectants for the skin like hyaluronic acid, butylene glycol, squalane, and glycerin.

Although hyaluronic acid and squalane are components that are produced in our bodies naturally, due to aging the production of such substances is slowed down.

Thus resulting in dry skin which ultimately leads to wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes. To combat aging factors like wrinkles, the Shiseido Revital Wrinklelift eye mask also contains retinol.

I honestly didn’t have many expectations for this Shiseido eye mask but I must admit it performed its functions as stated. This eye mask was the savior of my dehydrated eyes after a long day.

The hyaluronic essence in the eye patches was efficacious in cooling the under eyes while providing the necessary moisture and I liked how they didn’t contain any noticeable scent.

After peeling the eye patches I viewed how hydrated and plump my eyes looked and I could tell that my eyes looked more lively. It locks the moisture under your eyes while improving the skin texture.

Despite the eye mask’s claim to minimize wrinkles, I, however, didn’t notice any changes in the wrinkled areas around my eyes.

Therefore, I’d say the Shiseido Revital Wrinkelift Retino Science Aa Eye mask is quite efficient on dry eyes.

    Pros:

    • Formulated with humectants like hyaluronic acid, squalane, and butylene glycol
    • Deeply hydrates the eye zones and locks in moisture
    • Grants a cooling effect immediately when applied
    • Improves the skin’s elasticity around the eyes
    • Makes the skin around the eyes smooth
    • Suits all skin types

    Cons:

    • Doesn’t minimize wrinkles as claimed
    • Very expensive
    • Eye patches are pretty small
    • Only suitable for hydration purposes

    Shiseido Eye Masks Comparison

Shiseido Eye Masks Texture Fragrance Essence
Shiseido Uplifting And Firming Express Eye Mask Has a very thick texture that firmly applies to the skin Lavender  Contains minimal essence that’s well absorbed by the patches
Shiseido Benefiance WrinkleResist24 Pure Retinol Express Smoothing Anti-Aging Eye Mask Lightweight and smooth texture that doesn’t feel heavy under the eyes when applied Concentrated retinol scent The essence in the patches is very messy and drips off when eye patches are applied

How To Use Shiseido Eye Masks?

It’s not very intricate to figure out how eye masks should be applied but if you’re an amateur then you’re going to need a heads-up.

Furthermore, not all eye masks possess the same texture and essence thus here’s a straightforward guide on how to use Shiseido eye masks.

Step 1 - Cleanse your face with a mild cleanser to purge any dirt and impurities.

Step 2 - Remove the eye patches from the packet one by one and place them underneath your eyes covering the dark circles and affected areas. If there’s excess essence in the packet or patches you can apply them to your face gently.

Step 3 - Keep the eye masks in place based on the duration instructed on the package. Usually, 10 to 15 minutes is the ideal duration for the eye masks to be kept.

Step 4 - Once the patches turn dry or lose their texture, remove them gently and dispose of them.

Use 2 to 3 times a week as the final step of your skincare regimen. For best results, you can either opt to use Shiseido eye masks during the morning or before going to sleep and particularly before wearing makeup.

This is because your eyes call for relaxation these times of the day and the Shiseido eye masks can hands down revive your eyes and make them feel lively all day.
